Prayer Points Praying God’s Promises

This little book is a gift from God its packed with great scriptures of Gods promises to nearly anything you could think of that could cause you to stumble or derail you from your walk with the Lord. I am very pleased of the layout of this book, its very easy to find the issue you might be dealing with and then scripture to support God’s promise in that area. Our God is a wonderful God and I can tell you that His promises are true. This is a small enough book to slip in a purse of your a lady or in a pocket if you a man its great for all who need a helping hand from God in times of trouble. Get this book you will be amazed.

A.D. The Bible Continues: The Revolution That Changed the World

ad bible

In this authorized tie-in to the NBC television mini-series, Evangelical pastor, David Jeremiah, presents, in his own words, an easy-to-follow narrative of the first eleven chapters of the Book of Acts. Jeremiah provides insightful background and offers valuable applications for believers in the twenty-first century.

Unfortunately, as with the other A.D. tie-in aimed at Evangelicals, “A.D. The Bible Continues: The Book of Acts: The Incredible Story of the First Followers of Jesus, according to the Bible,” Jeremiah often lapses into praising men rather than God by referring to certain apostles and deacons as “great” and “finest,” etc. Don’t you just cringe when pastors and other Christian leaders appeal to fleshly pride? All glory to God!. I would easily recommend this book, “The Revolution That Changed The World,” over “The Book of Acts” package.  After reading both it’s clear “The Book of Acts” was intended more for seekers and new believers while “The Revolution That Changed The World” is geared more to the “seasoned” believer but that distinction won’t be readily apparent to the shopper or library patron.

I’m enjoying most of the A.D. mini-series (produced by)  Roma Downey, and her husband, Mark Burnett) and I enjoyed both Jeremiah books (two authorized Catholic-oriented tie-in books have also been published) but Christians must be discerning. My Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, died on the cross to pay for ALL of my sins and provided the ONLY way to the Father through faith in Him. No one can possibly merit their way to Heaven as the Roman Catholic church teaches. “I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” – Gal. 2:21. Praise the Lord my God.

A.D.: The Bible Continues–The Book of Acts

ad bible 2

“AD: The Bible Continues” is supposed to represent the Book of Acts. It tells the audience about the life and times of the disciples after the crucifixion. The creators of this series explain many of the events in Acts differently than the Bible; even the historical accounts are erroneous. However, it does show the audience what the environment might have looked like during that era.

Throughout this series, the Christians always appear to have peace, love, and joy. There is forgiveness and acceptance the entire time among the believers. I am told  that the inaccuracies are not what is important, but rather the message the series portrays. The messages of love and forgiveness are the backbone of a Christian’s walk. This series clearly portrays that message. Finally, read the the Book of Acts in the Bible to find out what really happened to the disciples. Over all its a good book and those wanting to read more about the Bible and the books in it are sure to be riveted by the accounts that happened in these times of our history. But as with all secular books if in doubt cross check it with the Word Of God. Happy reading and God Bless to you all.

DIVINE APPLAUSE BY JEFF ANDERSON

This is a very good book well written I think it will strengthen anyones relationship with God. It really explains the secrets to a very great and loving relationship with God and what that might entail and look like. It makes me think about my own walk with God and realizing that we don’t always get what we pray for the way we think we will get it. It opens our eyes that God’s ways are not always what we think we need but what God knows we need. I also think we all need to dig deeper in an intimate relationship with God and this book is certainly has a good set of tools to start with. I am recommending this book to anyone who wants to Know God better, deeper, and more intimately then ever before. We are here to serve God and love Him with all our hearts, souls, and minds and he deserves all the Glory, Praise, and Divine applause in our lives. God Bless and happy reading.

The Trail: A Tale about Discovering God’s Will Ed Underwood

This book I found to be very good, its a short novel but very informative for anyone getting married, newly married, or married already for a long time. Scripturally accurate and a great portrait of Gods amazing Grace. You can see that through the story God is always sufficient in all things no matter what storm we might be weathering He will always carry us through. Matt and Brenda seem to have their own ways to see God’s will in their lives, and I like their friends Brian and Lindsey who show them what they have done, and who and what brought them through their trails in marriage etc…. and their faith in God. We meet Sam and his principles. When we are put in a place that we must rely on Gods will and His promises for us that is when we can really experience spiritual growth in our own lives. I really enjoyed this story and I have to say that you can really understand the characters in the book and what they are feeling. When we follow Gods will in our own like we can truly experience the redemption that God has promised all who believe in Him. Happy Reading and God Bless.

This book was given to me by the wonderful people at Tyndale for purpose of review Thank You.

This Beautiful Mess: Practicing the Presence of the Kingdom of God

The book discusses looking at our lives through the kingdom of God. Jesus has a vision for the church, His followers, but his followers did not immediately follow the vision

McKinley discusses how the Jews were expecting a king to save them from oppression and bring freedom. Yet, Jesus came as a baby to a virgin Mary. He did not start his ministry right away. Jesus was the King of Kings, but no one was expecting him to come as a newborn.

He did not practice his ministry until he was old enough, then he died for our sins, only to rise again. Jesus also said he would come back and reclaim his kingdom and his bride His followers.
This is a very good book I hope you enjoy reading it.

Blind Descent by Brian Dickinson

I love true stories of faith and survival, and I have read a few in my time but this one was absolutely fantastic and stands above the rest. I was glued to this story as soon as I started this book. The compelling story of a fight for survival and trusting in God for the rest. Follow Brian’s Journey of a life long dream of summiting Everest 29035 feet the tallest mountain in the world. Follow every gripping moment of the trip and his faith in God that constantly guides him in all his decisions, and ultimately saves his life. Brain is a faithful husband and father and knows what is at stake as he makes each decision on this climb. To even summit Everest with a team is a daunting task but to take it on alone in the last steps of his climb and make it the to the top, and then snow blind at 29035 feet, no one their to guide your way to safety… But their was someone their with Brain, God was right their with him the entire time guiding him to safety. I definitely recommend this book its a great read. Put some time aside once you start you will not want to put this one down. Happy reading and God Bless.
